Chapter 1: The Brim
And the world was agony. The flame retardant spray whirled on and about, wielded by a stocky man in a hazmat suit reminiscent of ghostbusters. The flame itself decayed into nothing. Beneath the Earth’s mantle was its molten meal-win; the beginnings of soil and lava blisters that rose and cooled to obsidian. Flame to ash.
Lava to obsidian. Brimstone was so known. Nine-pence, for that was his name, felt no compassion for the fools the surface over who he’d suffer for their ignorance. It is known. They are known. Time waits for no man. Death is no exception.

Nine-pence was sickened by them. They’d die in their cribs, flayed wide and burned deep. The sermon on the mount gave 10 instructs, all
