About this ebook

Before the earth existed, Lucifer was created by God as a perfect and beautiful cherub. His four faces represent the image of the man, the lion, the eagle, and the ox. His two sets of wings and outer garment or covering of brightly shimmering gems and even gold was glorious. With these magnificent attributes and perfection, God the Father elevated Lucifer to a position of power. After becoming prideful and obsessed with himself, Lucifer sinned and attacked heaven with his army of angels. Jesus described the scene, saying, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18). Satan took his angels and cherubim with him (Revelation 12:4). How could sin change this favored cherub into what is described as an evil dragon or serpent? His sin, as in all sins, separated him from God! Without God, doing what is right is impossible. Satan’s idea of “right” no longer coincided with God’s point of view. For example, Satan was now able to lie. God will never lie (Numbers 23:19). There is much written about Satan, his fallen angels, the fallen angels’ offspring, and the demonic forces he controls. With scripture as our anchor, we will explore Apocryphal books, legends across the globe, and archeological records to confirm what the Bible says about Satan. Even the unspoken record found in the names of stars. The zodiac and decan constellations, have much to reveal about this enemy of God and man. Find out what Satan does not want you to know!

    About the Author

    Preface

Some of the contents of this book, which are based on the author's research, study, prayer, and insights received from the Holy Spirit, may or may not align or agree with any denominational church doctrine. However, quotations and scripture references pertaining to these statements are documented and cited to the corresponding references for contemplation.

The following information was established through the coordination of scripture from both the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Holy Bible. The King James translation is quoted in most cases. Any other translations quoted will be identified. Also, the use of external works not selected by the original canonical founders of God's Word will be quoted when pertinent to the material covered.

Through the imperfection and sinful nature of humans, God still works His will within His all-powerful nature. With this thought in mind, human imperfection is not a negative factor in the composition of God's Word, and the possibility of human error regarding God's intention and will for humankind in this work is impossible.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

Faith in God's supernatural ability inspired numerous writers over the centuries to compile this coordinated book we call the Holy Bible, with its layers of truth available for everyone through the revelation of the Holy Spirit. Belief in this truth inspired the platform of the following work.

Included are the insights one can glean from the external sources previously mentioned, which may or may not have once been contained within the sacred text of the Bible. These resources will be utilized as long as they follow Biblical statements and premises.

Secular material will be incorporated as well to show agreement with the Bible even if these works were not intended to do so. I would like to thank these authors and trust that the information gleaned from their work will be viewed as thought provoking. Biblical viewpoints are often left out of many of these texts in order to give a seemingly unbiased interpretation of historical findings; however, this work weaves them back into the picture, revealing the nature of our present world from a biblical perspective. This work coordinates all these materials in order to reveal the true picture of the fall of Lucifer, God's most infamous created angel and mankind's most dreaded enemy!

This layperson also wishes to extend sincere thanks to Reverend Finis Jennings Dake for his excellent annotations and also Reverend Marylin Hickey and Joseph Seiss, who authored their insightful books. Many references and quotations are cited throughout this book, referring to their material.

Also, I would like to thank my awesome husband, John, my dear friends Reverend Cathy Tubbs, prayer warrior Karen Connally, and the late pastor Virgil Barnes whose teachings led to the writing of this book.

Lastly and most importantly, a thank-you to God is in order for using me to write this book. It has been time- and labor-intensive because Satan does not want this truth to be made known and would like nothing more than to continue his trail of hatred and lies throughout eternity without anyone calling attention to his evil and rebellious acts against God and His human creation.

    Introduction

Belief in the infallible Word of God is shared by millions of Christians today. It is our one true guide. Our faith in the Bible is based on faith in God. It is not blind faith but a living, breathing relationship with the God of the universe.

The amazing compilation of manuscripts entitled the Holy Bible is alive and has powerful insight into the workings of the soul of humankind. It is essential to enrich our relationship with God and our fellow humans. It was assembled by the authoritative influence of God in order to maintain and protect His relationship with humans, which became confused and misunderstood after Satan stepped into the Garden of Eden, with echoes of doubt ranging from God's Word to the most basic of our human need, food.

Satan's deceiving influence resonates throughout history, appealing to humankind's damaged attitude from the first sin of our ancestors, Adam and Eve. The willful arrogance of our fallen state, combined with our fleshly inadequacies, promise fertile soil for his rebellious notions to grow into complete rejection of God if unabated.

This is why the elements of the Bible must be broken down and conveyed to the world. Secrets are longing to be awakened, secrets that agree with our very soul on some long-suppressed level of consciousness. The desire to live in paradise and communicate with someone who has all the answers and banishes loneliness forever is our birthright, as it began with the creation of Adam and Eve.

Studies of this sort will be criticized and mocked because of Satan's deception. However, those who allow God's purpose for creating humans to squeeze past the wall built within their minds can glimpse a refreshing flood of the knowledge found in God's Word, knowledge that might change their minds about Who God is and why He created this world.

If we do not allow the Bible and its hidden and literal levels of meaning to deliver an accurate account from God, we will almost assuredly be swallowed in the abyss of human- and demon-driven opinion. The world we live in is full of opinions and points of view. Whose ideas are right? Whose are wrong?

Can we all agree that we want to be happy, or at least joyful, even when things don't go the way we planned? Many people view the Bible as old-fashioned and even mythological—a bunch of rules stifling creativity. Could it be that some of the most outspoken opponents of the Bible despise being told what's right and what's wrong? After all, having free will is a God-given right! The trouble is, we should make the correct choice if we want the correct result. We can choose to do something good for someone or commit a wrong against someone. The Bible promotes teachings that encourage doing good things to and for others. Should we not give these teachings a chance?

Could certain rules exist for the good of everyone, including ourselves? These are questions the readers must answer for themselves while encountering this book. Making choices is what we do every day. Who knows how our choices will effect the future, both our own future and the overall scheme of things? Lucifer had to answer these questions as well. We see what happened to him and those who followed him from the beginning, and we get a glimpse of what happens to those who follow him now.

Is there evil in the world? Most adults have seen some sort of evil in their lifetime. Whom do we blame for this evil? For acts of nature, often God or at times even Satan is blamed. For accidents, inanimate objects, drugs, or other people are blamed. Some individuals often blame themselves for a personal mistake. When that is too painful, they relinquish responsibility and shift the blame to someone else. Often these types of events are considered random acts of chance. Ultimately, depending on the level of emotional stability, such occasions will not overwhelm the ability to cope with them.

However, there are many individuals who cannot cope. Evil overwhelms them. Occasionally, someone takes drastic action because an authority figure has caused them deep pain or abuse early in life. They might even form their own set of rules in order to make sense out of what was done to them. Often these rules become bizarre and evil, the exact opposite of good. Some cannot be rehabilitated before they commit a terrible crime.

A few of these individuals may allow themselves to slip into the realm of total evil, often with demonic association. From this darkest evil, the blackest of crimes and inhumane behavior can manifest. Most would agree that this turn of events would come from Satan. Evil people exist for sure! Serial killers, murderers, terrorists, killers of innocent children, and the like are examples, but there are still darker sins, if you will. These contort and confound the minds of even the most seasoned criminologists.

Satan is the father of lies and should be known as the founder of all sin (John 8:44b; 1 John 3:8), because the Satanic sins spoken of above exceed even human imagination. Most people will never encounter the worst of the devil's wickedness and evil. Most succumb to the little lies and cheating tricks his rebellious insinuations engender. It's often hard to separate temptation from the faithless thoughts we often find ourselves entertaining. Insidiously, sin creeps in softly, taking small bites at first, then gnawing at the very fabric of our character. If we succumb to these temptations, shame and guilt follow.

Then we find ourselves no longer able to make a clear decision without the influence of this guilt. We are stuck because we were not created to handle guilt and shame. It disturbs our very core, our essence. It may be something we cannot discuss with others for fear of their negative reaction. If these feelings are not dealt with, eventually guilt and shame engulf our psyche and may lead to depression. Depression takes us deeper into shadowy, cold despair and more shame. Unless halted, the whole experience could lead to total withdrawal or even suicide. Then Satan has you exactly where he wants you, incapacitated and ineffective—or dead!

His deception is complete at that point. With billions of fallen angels, demons, and deceived individuals at his command and with the right tools, he could deceive the whole world! Impossible—you might be thinking.

In this age after Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, it would be impossible. Through Jesus's sacrifice, the price has been paid for the salvation of all humanity by the forgiveness of sin. Sadly, some will not accept this gift. Their unbelief will send them straight to hell for all eternity!

Please understand that half of Satan's mission statement is accomplished at the deception of the people of planet earth. His next goal is to defeat God and His holy angels! This he has attempted before (Isaiah 14:12–21), but he will try again, according to Revelation 19:11–21 and 20:7–10.

The Bible makes it clear who will win. Whose side will the people of earth find themselves supporting?

    Chapter 1

    Redeemer versus Deceiver

The Bible has withstood the test of time. How many people have been snatched from the arms of death by suicide through the powerful hope permeating from those pages? This hope is embodied in the person of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8b).

Nations, kings, and judges have tried to discredit and destroy the Word of God unsuccessfully. Critics have tried to condemn its contents. Many books have been destroyed through the ages by these tactics. How can we explain the existence and survival of this one?

It is the only book ever written that has the right to confirm its own reliability: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Although it is not the oldest book ever written, for at least five thousand years (maybe longer), ancient humans were able to peer into the night sky and see parts of this book displayed in the outlines of stars, called constellations. This suggests a Creator who designed with precision thousands of stars, some so immense we have trouble imagining their size. He set in motion this twinkling design so that it would arrive at this precise time in Earth's long history, forming the various constellations we see today during the different seasons.

Hickey (2015) explained, [These stars express] the love and mercy of God [which] are magnified even more greatly when we realize He has written a message of His plan for us in the stars (p. 11).

Psalm 19:1–3 says, The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament [showeth] his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night [showeth] knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Every night, when the light of the sun is reflected upon the planets and the stars are visible, they shine forth the knowledge of God. … See how God revealed signs of His perfect plan in [the] heavens. Discover…that the heavens truly do declare the glory of God; see how His plan unfolds from beginning to end and how it is still being confirmed. (Hickey 2015, p. 12)

Romans 1:20 says, For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

Dake (1963) explained, [There is] no excuse for [humans] to be in ignorance of the invisible things, [because it can be seen in creation. Another example is a parallel between the water cycle and God's word (Isaiah 55:7–13)]… (p. 160).

In most cases, God provides a witness who proclaims that He alone is God and Savior (Isaiah 43:10–11). Much of this book brings out the attributes of God seen through imperfect people described in the scriptures. He chose these individuals and revealed aspects of Himself through their lives. In Acts 14:15–18 (NKJV), Paul rebuked the Lycaonians for misidentifying himself and Barnabas for Hermes and Zeus after the two of them, by the power of Christ, healed a crippled man.

Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things [worship of false gods] to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them. (Acts 14:15–18 NKJV)

The divine gift of the water cycle for abundant harvest is another example of nature speaking of God's goodness, however, men are also God's witnesses sewing seeds of salvation, nourished by the living water, and their obedience to Him is confirmed by the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32) through the salvation of souls.

We see this first exemplified in Abraham and Sarah, their son, Isaac, then Jacob, and his sons and grandsons to the fourth generation. Our first example is the person Job.

Job is [an outstanding] book, filled with vast knowledge, and is said to be one of the oldest books in the Bible Hickey (2015) wrote. Historians believe that Job was the first book ever written down—even before Moses wrote the Pentateuch. Hickey (2015) continued:

How did Job have knowledge of a Redeemer if none of these prophecies [originating from the Pentateuch] were even recorded for him? … God unfolded His story in the heavens. Job has more to say about the stars than any other book of the Bible. He [must have] received a wonderful revelation of the Lord from the very heavens themselves. (p. 24)

Job's revelation of God is an example of experiencing both nature and human witness. Job 1:4—5 says:

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

This scripture reveals that Job was aware of the need for a blood sacrifice to cover a sin. It was passed down to him from his ancestors. He was also aware of a coming Redeemer (Job 19:23–27). He understood that this person would shed His blood to bring remission of sins forever without continual animal sacrifices.

And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Therefore it was necessary that the copies of things in the heavens should be purified with these [the blood of calves and goats], but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are the copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with [the] blood of another—He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (Hebrews 9:22–26 NKJV)

In order to understand the person, Job, we must learn what God's Word says about him. He knew that one day our Savior, Jesus Christ, would be born and bring redemption and true salvation (Job 19:25) but that for the time in which he lived, sacrifice of certain animals was the only way to find favor with God if sins had been committed.

According to Dake (1963), God had taught Adam to offer [animals] as sacrifice in looking forward to the promised Redeemer. Genesis 4:1–7; Hebrews 9:22 (p. 4). After Adam and Eve sinned God made coats of skins (Genesis 3:21, paraphrased), for clothing to cover them. Animal hides or leather is implied (Strong's Concordance 1894, p. 86).

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them (Genesis 3:21). Some people contend that this scripture means that God gave Adam and Eve skin at this time. However, skin is a major organ for organic creatures made from the dust (Genesis 2:7). It protects them from bacteria (which God made also). Even if they were covered by God, He knew they would sin, and this covering would immediately be gone. Why would He leave them unprotected? Furthermore, why would He leave this organ out of the original creation of humans? God finished His work (Genesis 2:1—2). He never fails us (1 Chronicles 28:20). The animals were created with skin and coats and feathers, else the birds could not fly (Genesis 1:20). Not only did these skins cover their flesh, but the animal blood sacrifices placed a temporary covering over their sin. However, Adam and his posterity still died. Some went to hell (and will see the second death Revelation 20:6, 14), while others went to paradise based on God's judgment. An even greater sacrifice was needed to guarantee salvation. Christ's blood would bring everlasting life to believers (Genesis 22:7; John 1:29).

Adam passed this action down to Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:1–7, however, the only one who saw the truth of the sacrifice was Abel.

And in the process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. (Genesis 4:3–5)

Abel's offering was well received, while Cain's offering was rejected because of his lack of faith and true worship of God. Out of jealousy, Cain committed the sin of murdering his brother.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh (Hebrews 11:4).

[Abel's offering was faith based worship, a sin offering. His offering showed that he recognized] his own sinfulness and [the necessity for God's mercy, while Cain's offering of the fruit of the ground did not cover sin. It showed that Cain actually denied his sinfulness and personal need of God and His mercy]. Abel was justified by faith in Christ's blood [the seed whose heel would be bruised as stated in Genesis 3:15] which he acknowledged in type. God testified to his righteousness by accepting his sacrifice (Genesis 4:4). By [Abel's] faith in blood atonement, he still preaches to men of such need. The word gifts indicates more than one offering, thus testifying Abel's faith in the utter insufficiency of what he did offer, but true faith in what they typified. (Dake 1963, p. 253, emphasis added)

Cain's action led to a whole race of nonbelievers who chose other gods to worship. Eventually, Seth was born, and he passed the meaning of the true sacrifice to his sons, giving humankind another chance to choose to worship the true and living God and not false gods and idols.

When perversions of the sacrifice and the worship of idols became the norm in Abraham's time, God revealed his original plan to Abram. His obedience to God and faith was accounted to him for righteousness (Galatians 3:6). He passed his faith down to his son Isaac, and we know that Isaac's son Jacob also passed it to his sons, one of which was named Issachar, who also passed it to his sons.

[Job was the son of Issachar (Genesis 46:13)] (Dake 1963). The events [of this book] took place in the land of Uz (Job 1:1). Job [probably] died about 15 years before the exodus from Egypt. Tradition says that the Book of Job was written by Moses. [During Moses' 40 years as a shepherd in the wilderness, these two men could have known one another. Also,] the art of making books was known at this time, as proven within the book itself. (Job 19:23–24, 31:35, emphasis added) (p. 548)

It is certain that Job lived before the giving of the law, for there are no references to Jewish rites, manners, customs, religious ceremonies, priesthood, festivals, fasts, sabbaths, or anything else commanded in the law of Moses. The references to religion and God in the book make it clear that Job's religion and concept of God were the same as that which prevailed in the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob [or Israel] before the giving of the law (Job 1:5; 42:8). Job was the one who offered sacrifices as the head of his own family and [on] behalf of the children, as Noah (Genesis 8:20); Abraham and the other pre-law patriarchs did. (Genesis 12:[7–8,] 15:9–11, [26:25, 28:18, 31:54, 33:20]) (Dake 1963, p. 548, emphasis added)

Because of Abraham's abhorrence with the religious practices of the Chaldeans, which involved astrology and idol worship, God revealed His plans and purpose for Abraham through dreams and verbal communication after the patriarch offered sacrifices of animals. Although his disgust for astrology and idolatry is not brought out in the Bible, it is recorded in the Book of Jasher (7:46—chapter 8).

Since astrology is a preversion of what God intended for the zodiac (the belt of heavenly pictures), perhaps God decided revelation through the stars would not be well received by Abraham at that time; therefore, He chose to visit Abraham through dreams and even visited him in the form of a man (Genesis 15:12–16, 18–21, 17:1, 18:1).

Instead of using the constellations, even though the constellations were created by God to reveal His purpose for mankind, God chose other ways to reach Abraham. Even today He uses different avenues of revelation to meet people where they are, depending on how the enemy's deception has influenced their understanding.

Job had no bias concerning the stars. He believed that the constellations revealed God's past and future plans for this world. However, God still visited him as well—in a whirlwind (Job chapters 38–42). As for Abraham, we read the scriptures below to understand the lengths our God will go in order to have a relationship with His creation.

And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. (Genesis 15: 12–16)

Note here that the Amorites are descendants of Canaan and are a tribe of giants who lived in the mountains (Numbers 13:29). This land was promised to the descendants of Abram (Genesis 12:7, 15:7, 24:7, 26:3, 48:4 etc.). By the way, giants are not just a figure of speech. They are real entities, the product of sexual relationships between fallen angels, or sons of God described in Job 1:6, and the daughters of men found in Genesis 6:1–4. These giants were called Nephilim in Genesis 6:4 NIV and Rephaites (meaning: giants, rapha, Rephaim; also found in Deuteronomy 2:11, NIV).

Genesis 15:18 states: In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

In other words, God was now going to replace these giants (sons of the fallen angels and daughter's of men) with Abram's descendants. From these descendants (seed of a woman), the Messiah would come at the appointed time (Genesis 3:15).

When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless' (Genesis 17:1 NKJV). In other words, holiness is found through faith and obedience to God Almighty.

Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day (Genesis 18:1 NKJV).

[Mamre was a descendent of one of the sons of Canaan (Genesis 10:16). He was an Amorite. Amorites were the] most powerful of the Canaanite nations. They were to be dispossessed by Abraham's descendents (Genesis 15:16–21). Here they were confederate with [Abraham]. They were the first people to be dispossessed by Israel. (Dake 1963, p. 12)

Amos 2:9 recorded, Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them [Israel], whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above [the fallen angels, Jude 1:6–7], and his roots from beneath [the daughters of men, Genesis 6:4].

Abraham's faith in God's covenants sealed the future of his heirs if they continued living and believing in God. He believed and taught his children and grandchildren that these promises extended beyond the earthly promised land to a heavenly land (Hebrews 11:8–19).

Hebrews 11:10 states: For he [Abraham] looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

After Abraham's symbolic sacrifice of Isaac, which God had commanded of him (testing his faith), He made an even deeper covenant with Abraham than He did with Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:15).

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy [S]seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in [the Seed of a woman and] thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:17–18, emphasis added)

God used the stars and the grains of sand to make a point. From the stars to the seashore, from heaven to earth, from the immense to the miniscule, God would multiply Abraham's seed both physically and spiritually. These examples elevated both the land and the stars in the eyes of Abraham to a positive standing and changed his perspective, allowing him to see the true meaning of the constellations. The account of Noah's ark, the water carrier, and Christ's purpose could be seen in the star pictures, and this was only the beginning.

Christ, the promised seed of a woman, would save Abraham and his family. He and the generations following him would become a blessing to all men since Christ would come through their line. Anyone in any nation receiving Christ now becomes the seed of Abraham.

Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,' as of many but as of one, ‘And to your Seed,' who is Christ (Galatians 3:16 NKJV; see also verse 3:29). The deeper meaning of Abraham's Seed is spiritual rather than physical. Physical birth is important but not as important as spiritual rebirth and becoming an heir of the promise of eternal life with God.

For you are all sons of god through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26 NKJV).

It is as if when we receive Christ, we, the seed of Abraham, are figuratively replacing the fallen angels (Genesis 6:4) on entering heaven, just as the Israelites literally replaced the giant offspring of the fallen angels when they entered the promised land through conquest.

The requirement to enter heaven is not by birth as a descendent of Abraham but by rebirth when we believe in Christ (John 3:3).

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:28–29 NKJV).

This includes everyone who believes Christ is Lord! There is no need for the ancient religions invented by those who thought they could find another way to God because they were not born a native Hebrew. There is no need for the New Age religions either. These were and are inadequate substitutes for God's way. They were created through deception by fallen angels or Satan to deceive people. Satan first tried to stop Christ's arrival by contaminating human DNA, mixing it with fallen angel DNA (Genesis 6:1–4). This action produced giants. When Satan saw that this did not accomplish the complete replacement of Adamic stock, then he tried even harder to deceive the Adamites after Noah's flood, but God was way ahead of him. Even today, Satan still intends to deceive us and try to keep us from believing in our true Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and be condemned to a second death in hell. God's Word stands between Satan's army and our free will to accept Christ as the Messiah, and if we believe God's Word, we will take our rightful place in heaven with Christ (Ephesians 2:6), perhaps even filling the gap left by the fallen angels—not becoming angels ourselves, but a mighty and redeemed army for Christ.

Religions leaving Christ out of the equation lead to nothing but disaster and everlasting punishment in the lake of fire with Satan, his fallen angels, demon minions, and the humans who refuse to accept Christ as Savior. The Bible points to Christ from the Old Testament to the New Testament. The constellations point to Christ as well. Please don't make the mistake of disregarding the answer to every question you have ever asked! The answer to why you are here, where you came from, and what your future purpose is can be found in Jesus, God the Word, and in the Word of God, the Holy Bible.

Job, the great-great-grandson of Abraham, had a vision of Christ.

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me. (Job 19:25–27; see also 1 Corinthians 15:51–58; sleep here refers to body sleep)

How did Job know all this without the written law and the written Word of God?

He saw it in the stars, but also it would seem that some of these concepts were passed down to him from his forefather Abraham, the patriarch. Abraham was a contemporary of Noah and Shem, who received the knowledge and teachings from their ancestor Enoch, who walked with God…for God took him (Genesis 5:24). God carried away or translated Enoch to heaven bodily. Similarly, He will rapture the church, changing the corruptible bodies of saints, like Job's, and those living at that time to immortal bodies prior to Armageddon (see chapter 2, 11).

From the ages of the progeny in the genealogy of Genesis 11, Abraham lived during the latter years of Noah and Shem's life. The Book of Jasher actually confirms Abram's association with Noah and Shem.

And when Abram came out from the cave, he went to Noah and his son Shem, and he remained with them to learn the instruction of the Lord and his ways, and no man knew where Abram was, and Abram served Noah and Shem his son for a long time. (Jasher 9:5)

Abram lived with Noah and Shem for 39 years. Noah was 600 years old when the flood came and lived 950 years. In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened (Genesis 7:11). And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died (Genesis 9:28–29). From the birth of Arphaxad, two years after the flood until the birth of Abram it was 292 years. Noah lived 350 years after the flood and Shem 500 years. Abram's life overlapped Noah's life by 58 years. This is the sum of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: one hundred and seventy-five years (Genesis 25:7)… Shem outlived Abraham by 35 years. That means that both Isaac and Jacob were taught by Shem and Eber. (Didier 2012, para. 5–10)

The Book of Jasher is mentioned in Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18. It was never included in the original Bible. However, the reader will note that references made to the Book of Jasher will be used in this book to agree with what the Bible already states. Any reference to the Book of Jasher is used to support and confirm scripture.

The Bible is our reference for the truth. Though men compiled it and wrote it, God, in wisdom and power, ordained their work and destined this compilation through even the imperfection of men. After all, with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26b).

If He can use a donkey to speak the truth, He can lead men to compile and write the truth even in their ignorance. Numbers 22:28–34 gives the account of the donkey who spoke to the misguided prophet, Balaam.

Word of mouth is the way the gospel is spread. Most of us do not walk around with a Bible in hand to read to people who have questions. However, what happens when someone has a question about God and there is no human witness to share the gospel with them? In view of God's great mercy, kindness, and salvation, wouldn't He have provided another way to spread the gospel?

God surely inspired Job through the stars and constellations and also revealed many things to him that built on the teachings he had received from his forebearers.

Job, his friends, and even God Himself refer to the names of stars and constellations in conversation. We can deduct from these references that God placed the stars in their positions for multiple purposes. One is to reveal Himself to humankind (Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:20). Through the contemporary teachings of Marilyn Hickey and others (such as Joseph Augustus Seiss) who have been inspired by God, we can once again see the truths revealed in the constellations.

Men and women of Job's generation were familiar with the secular reasons for following the stars (for agricultural purposes and the like), but the stars themselves also formed pictures in the night sky to observers. Without the invention of electricity or television and many of the distractions we experience today, the most entertaining thing in the night sky was the moon and the stars.

    Chapter 2

    The Mazzaroth

Dake (1963) declared that Mazzaroth [is] the twelve signs of the zodiac (p. 545). It is mentioned by God in Job 38:32. God asks Job: Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? Or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

Seiss (1884) proclaimed, "And this belt or zone, with these twelve moons or months for its steps or stages, is called the Zodiac, from the primitive root zoad, a walk, way, or going by steps, like Jacob's ladder" (p. 41).

Are the stars that important to God?

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:5–7)

Humans must be very valuable to God. He actually knows the number of hairs on everyone's head. Wow! I daresay none of us know how many hairs we have on our own head, much less anyone else's. Even bald people have a few fine hairs, but they probably don't take the time to count how many.

The Bible says that God named and numbered the stars as well. In Psalm 147:4, we read: He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

It appears that if God has numbered the hairs of our head and numbered the stars, He knows the destiny of the items He numbered. If stars predict anything, the God who numbered them knew these things before He numbered them. He is far greater than the stars He created, named, and numbered! He knows the fate of all, from the hair of our head to the vastness of the stars above.

    Hickey (2015) explained:

The book of Genesis clearly defines what God created during the six days of active creation (He rested on the seventh day). The first knowledge the Bible sets out about the stars is to tell us what they are for and also specify the fact that God created them: And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. (Genesis 1:14–16, KJV) (p. 13)

He created the stars just as He created humans. He placed us both carefully. The stars bring light to the world. It is not only physical, but through God's Word, we can gain spiritual enlightenment as it explains what the constellations mean (Genesis 1:15–18).

He also named the stars. To the Hebrew people, a name means something. Many people were given names by God. Abram's name was changed by God to Abraham, which means a father of many nations (Genesis 17:5). Sarai, his wife's name, was changed to Sarah, which means a mother of nations (Genesis 17:16). When God named the stars, He must have meant for these names to mean something to us. We will discuss the names of these stars later in this book through the wisdom given by God to Joseph Seiss and Marilyn Hickey from their studies.

Throughout the ages, the stars have provided a great source of fascination for…people. The devil has deceived people for thousands of years through astrology, revealed (Hickey 2015, p. 7).

The names of some stars have also been shortened or changed even in recent years by humans, perhaps through the influence of Satan, to discredit or conceal God's original names for them.

Later in the chapters that follow, we see that Satan's fallen angels also had a hand in this deception (see Enoch chapter 8 verse 3d). Even today astrology is a popular pastime. Why would the devil bother with something seemingly insignificant to contemporary humans with all our technology and science?

Instead of seeking God for His wisdom, people have accepted one of Satan's greatest counterfeits: the lie of astrology. Satan has gone to great lengths to deceive people with his elaborate plan. He must be disguising a message that is for [us—the miraculous story of redemption through Christ]. (Hickey 2015, p. 7)

Perhaps astrology appeals to our almost instinctive hunger for answers to questions about our life and the unknowns of the future before us.

If we trust God, we don't need to know if we will find love or success or financial independence. God promises to give us what we need if we trust Him. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20a).

‘For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future' (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).

Dake (1963) acknowledged, There are 250 promises in the New Testament alone, including: Unfailing love (John 14:21); Riches, (2 Corinthians 8:9); and Great rewards, (Matthew 5:12) (pp. 316–317).

Hickey (2015) stressed that God desires His people to focus their attention on what the heavens themselves declare. He has set forth a truth which no man, no demon in hell, and no angel can alter; it is the story of Jesus Christ and of His finished work, your redemption. She continued:

It is true that many people have seen validity in horoscopes, but that is only because Satan will mimic the truth whenever possible. Although many people don't accept astrology, at the same time, they will not totally reject it. [We] must realize that astrology is not from God; it is from the devil. [We must] make a decision according to God's Word not to involve [ourselves] with astrology ever again. (Hickey 2015, p. 14)

Just think of what God did! The Creator of the universe arranged massive stars, nebulae, and galaxies in patterns, which form designs or constellations visible from our seemingly insignificant planet, that explain our very existence and purpose for being here in this specific place and time… What an awesome prospect!

    It can't be, you say!

Astrology is Satan's big lie, which he used to keep men from understanding the way of salvation. At the cross, Christ triumphed over Satan, and He gives Christians the authority to live above every element in the spirit world. Don't be deceived into seeking answers from the stars. Instead, seek answers from the One Who created them. (Hickey 2015, p. 15)

Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44) and the thief [who comes only] to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). [Jesus came] that [we] might have life, and that…more abundantly. In him [Jesus] was life; and the life was the light of men (John 1:4).

Divination, along with other sinful practices, were forbidden by God when he led the Israelites into the promised land.

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (Deuteronomy 18:10–11)

White (2014) asserted in his book Babylonian Star-Lore:

Astrology is one particular branch of divination, which seeks to interpret the skies in terms relevant to the whole land… Ominous signs appear to be meaningful because they stand out from the background of normal everyday life. Divination in general assumes that there is a normal pattern of behavior underpinning everything in the universe—Babylonian astrology as we know it, could rightly be called State Astrology as it is chiefly concerned with the destiny of the state and the king. (p. 30)

One can see the extent to which Satan had steeped the Babylonian people into divination. The Israelites at this point were possibly the only nation as a whole not fooled by this ancient religion started by the father of lies, the thief, and the murderer—namely, Satan and his fallen angel followers.

Today some of us wonder how a God-created angel like Lucifer could fall. Others are convinced he is a myth or an idea representing evil. What better place for him to hide until he is revealed as a real person at the judgment. He is powerful and hungry for more power. He will not be ignored then! If people have not put their trust in Christ when this occurs, they will be truly sorry. Let's talk about him, his beginning, what happened to change him, and what will happen to him in the future!

Is it dangerous to talk about the devil? Jesus [taught] more about the devil than any other person in the entire Bible. He renounced and denounced the devil more than any other recorded person. He gave strict orders to…cast out devils [demons]. (Sumrall 1989, p. 4)

The more we understand about Satan, the more we can further our understanding of the gospel of Christ and why salvation is so important (1 John 3:8). We are to know the truth about our enemies, for we can be deceived, tempted, and drawn away by them (Ephesians 6:11).

There are many secular, ancient, and companion texts, along with folklore from many cultures, that confirm what is written in the Bible about our enemy, Satan, and our Savior, Jesus. These, as well as archeological findings, can be used to further our knowledge; however, it should not misrepresent the Word of God. It must be reviewed in the context God intended. His Word explains the context and will be referred to in such a way that will hopefully convince the reader of His truth. The Bible brings unity and logic to these pseudo texts and other historical works.

Despite the fact that some of these references may have been written prior to or even after the Bible should have no precedence over the Bible, or bearing on its validity. God's word is final and He always gets the last word. As brought out before, He can use anyone, anything and any situation to reveal His word, just as He used the donkey.

But he [Balaam] was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—who spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness (2 Peter 2:16 NIV).

God is not constrained by time as we are (2 Peter 3:8). [He] is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). He is omnipresent (Psalm 139:7–12), among other traits of His. He can use anyone he chooses to accomplish His purposes. Satan corrupted individuals who lived in ancient times and is still deceiving modern humans.

Christians are taught to study the Bible and learn as much as possible about the gospel. We can learn from history as well within the confines of what God's Word expresses. If we can understand what happened at the beginning, it will help us appreciate the greater importance for having a relationship with Christ and will reveal how dangerous our enemy really is. It will show the mercy of our Heavenly Father and the great plan of salvation He created for us from the beginning with Adam and Eve. This salvation plan is not available to Satan, the fallen angels, and the demons. Humans who choose to follow them and reject God, dying without repentance of sins, will suffer the same fate as Satan and his minions.

Matthew 25:41 says, Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels (see also Rephaim, in the glossary, Isaiah 26:13–14 and Job 26:5).

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:41–42)

This happens in Revelation 19 and 20.

The fact that there is no salvation for Satan, the fallen angels, and the demons is one of the reasons why Satan is trying to take as many humans as possible with him to hell, perhaps needing to prove to God how unfair he thinks His judgment is. This explains why all humans are under such an attack from these enemies. We also know that anything God does, Satan will either try to copy and/or bring to scorn.

There is a passage in the First Book of Adam and Eve (chapter XLVII:7–8):

But Satan, the hater of all good, thought within himself: "Whereas God has promised salvation to Adam by covenant, and that he would deliver him out of all hardships that have befallen him—but has not promised me by covenant, and will not deliver out of my hardships; no, since He has promised him that He should make him and his descendants live in the kingdom of which I once was—I will kill Adam. The earth shall be rid of him; and shall be left to me alone; so that when he is dead he may not have any descendants left to inherit the kingdom that shall remain my own realm; God will then be wanting me, and He will restore it to me and my hosts." (Platt 2021, 1 Adam and Eve 47:7–8, emphasis added)

If you have read Genesis, you know that Satan (the devil) brought death to Adam, Eve, and their progeny when he, through the serpent, deceived Eve and they consumed the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which God had commanded them not to eat. This makes him a murderer from the beginning of Adam and Eve's reign on this earth (John 8:44).

If not for Christ, the firstborn of the dead (Colossians 1:18), we would be lost forever and spend eternity in the lake of fire with Satan.

In the following chapters, many more of Satan's attempts to destroy human life will be revealed, along with efforts to destroy the Savior sent by God to redeem this fallen society. More of the reasons Satan and his fallen angels hate God and His creation will be discussed, while others will remain a mystery. Our enemy's hatred for God and His creation is still as
