About this ebook

1ST LIEUTENANT GEOVALDO - Sentenced to 74 Years in Prison. Sent to one of the largest Maximum Security Penitentiaries in the State of Ceará (Penal Institute Paulo Sarasate - IPPS) for crimes against Public Security and social welfare. That was the dramatic path of Former Lieutenant PM Geovaldo, who rejected love and mercy, justice and truth, for 30 years, when he thought he was someone (Galatians 6:3). In prison it was 9 years and 11 months and 27 days, behind bars to understand that he was nobody (Romans 3:10). His hardness of heart was the altar that almost sentenced him to death if it were not for the immediate intervention of the Power of God that reached him in the prison captivity. Therefore, just one encounter with Jesus erased the transcript of guilt, pain and condemnation. This is a real life story lived by the 1st Lieutenant PM Geovaldo, yesterday sentenced to 74 years in prison; today, Pastor Geovaldo Barroso, a testimony of faith and life transformation, of the Power of God.

1st Lieutenant Pm Geovaldo - Pastor Barroso Francisco

    CHAPTER – 01

    Against common sense

1991. The City is Fortaleza, State of Ceará, during this period, began its work in the Command Headquarters of the 6th Military Police Battalion, unit subordinated to the CPC (Police Policing Command) located in the western area of the city, in the Conjunto Esperança-Aracapé-Neighborhood.

In this place, on several occasions, as a policing officer, he watched several scenes of urban violence and took no action.

There was a social and moral decline in the young officer's life. There were constant changes in his moral and professional conduct, and such modifications would be compared, as "A rock when thrown into water causes concentric circles to grow larger and larger; in the face of such comparison, it is clear that while in the water one sees the point of departure and the ripples which bind to each other."

Thus, in delinquency, the response to the criminal tendency is not always found if in the minds by deviations of personality; the members seek to prove greater superiority or whether through the senses by directional inheritance, when aborted or nauseated by society itself, being isolated and practically, without any opportunity. This gave rise to the beginning of an illustrative and alternative system of its own personality that had long been controversial.

In October of the same year, he received an invitation to sponsor private security of private facilities in the following dance clubs in the capital metropolitan area; the first in Aquiraz (CE) and the second in Caucaia (CE).

In this endeavor he himself was the principal agent of the gate and the main access entrances in both precincts. Through this episode, he felt it was time to close that kind of business that paralleled his public function. Although he was not caught in that kind of activity yet he was transferred to 1st Company / 5th BPM.

Year 1992: In that subunit the officer arrived there as the oldest subaltern by hierarchy. At the time the Company was located in the eastern area of the City of Fortaleza-CE, in the neighborhood of Aldeota; sector known as prime area of policing, both on foot, on horseback, and motorized.

Certain that upon arriving at that company as sub commandant his voice would be heard and began to raise all the problems there, among which were seen as lack of effective, inoperable armament and ammunition, operating and administrative vehicles in total state of scrapping; so the withdrawals were made known to the Company Commander who, after reading the report, replied "Actually, we do what we have! He used only a verbal duplicity as his answer, but he did not offer any objective solutions. So all his effort in the work until then had not been recognized however when in the first Supervisor service of Area 01 he was directing in the area by drivers and patrolmen of the vehicles where nonetheless and insistently he heard police repeat: Lieutenant leaves this come on! Let's get on well with what we have in the area, because the area is very rich! So, Lieutenant Geovaldo replied: Negative! Stop talking, move on, driver!" The officer sometimes did not shut up, however, and later in the face of a large plot armed by several corrupt police officers and addicted to the camouflaged delinquency not punished by the corporation and who, at the present time, operated under his command, did not have enough authority to curb such actions by what indirectly he also became part of all that dirt.

Lieutenant Geovaldo entered into a world that did not belong to him "the dictatorial world of rebellion and lack of governability", because the corporation's disciplinary regulation no longer had an effect on his life and finally, the subjection to crime began to shout more high.

"Ho! Uncontrolled children, says the Lord, who give effect to a purpose which is not mine, and who make an agreement, but not by my spirit, increasing their sin." (Isaiah 30:1)

Some Saturday morning, he was invited to pass a fuel station located on Santos Dumont Avenue. There was the following dialogue: "This is the Lieutenant of whom I had spoken to you. He's the one in charge of this whole area, stay put, because he's our comrade, you know!"

In the face of this whole episode, the officer was totally astonished. To his surprise, the manager of the fuel station returned with a box containing cans of lubricating oil, tow, polishing wax, and a voucher to fill thirty (30) liters of fuel.

Subsequently the lieutenant learned that the manager of that gas station was addicted to narcotics. That theater was like a stupid entrance toward the wide door of the lieutenant's moral and professional decline. Believing he sought to please or let himself be led by false accolades "boss, you're the guy and everyone says that you are cool head."

Between his partners, he lost the practice and prohibitive success of such a criminal practice before him, when he became the chief corrupt and corrupt agent so he was tested and succumbed to the temptation of the tip of the fuel station manager.

"If anyone thinks that he is anything, he is nothing, he deceives himself." (Galatians 6:3)

Likewise, he was similar to them in (greed, arrogance, prostitution, alcoholism, orgy, etc.) and in all things similar to these, which bring no benefit to men of good, but he became a man of tormented and perverted nature open to evil.

In principle, this was the starting point for his irresponsible delinquency, starting from the execution of the work, he became an authentic chameleon who wore a gun and a car, and the uniform of the corporation, everything seemed to him very easy; but all these facilities only drew him into a great tight tie.

"There is a way that seems right to man, but his end leads to death." (Proverbs 16:25)

But it was from 05/12/1992 that the beginning of a series of small crimes to later turn into assaults, homicide, extortion by means of kidnapping, and car theft, corporal injury and accusation of rape.

The reader may ask: Why the seafront? Because it’s a tourist area frequented by public gathering and diversification of the night orgies. In that working environment along with other "military police officers" there was no distinction between policemen and bandits; but the duplicity of disguises where several flagrant ones were effected; sometimes they were slyly executed, and the officer induced them to yield to the most various types of blackmail in order not to become public figures in the face of their enslavement, such as important persons who promoted bacchanalia with transvestites within their own vehicles not indifferent to others who during the day are male, but at night they lie down as if they were females and from the seduction to the corruption of minors, and so on.

Therefore, as an agent of the law, Lieutenant Geovaldo was there precisely failing ahead of the weaknesses of others by which he became corrupt and potential corrupter also conniving with the criminal system.

    The chameleon phase

Mask – Crime does not pay!

In May 1992, when he was in command of RP 502, a former patrolman said: "Lieutenant, I know a guy who can prepare a few heavy challenges!" Again, a new test with the officer happened to fail, so that he was totally mute and static of understanding, if not outside the common sense of reality, but before the soldier's question the following question arose: Where is the (QTH) of the very heavy guy? (Lieutenant Geovaldo). When everything was settled, as if in a typical criminal action, Lieutenant Geovaldo did not even suspect, but he was already supporting a first crime in his own policing area: That same night there was what might be called a criminal action, where, even before it happened, there was already in his mind an accusation of error for his criminal connivance.

The next day a man came to deal with the officer in the GPM (Military Police Branch) of Praia do Futuro. In fact, when the assailant told him what had happened, he almost drew his gun and gave him an arrest warrant, but the "almost" of the officer was only in his thoughts. From then on Lieutenant Geovaldo was so much worse than the man who had committed those criminal acts.

After a few months he also began to practice those nocturnal works, where everything was made happen; therefore, in the theater and stage of criminal operations the officer acted as the principal agent of the criminal assaults as announced by the various mass media of that time.

    Committed crimes (May 1992)

First Lieutenant PM Geovaldo had almost become an unscrupulous man. As commander of RP 502, he "policed" policing since 8:10 p.m., so by 11:00 p.m., all locations were wild and dark. So there were no occurrences of interest on the seafront, for nothing mattered to him but to look for unenlightened and unsuspecting victims lost in night-time prostitution in their rare moments of pleasure. Faced with this situation on several occasions they were at some distance from any and every occurrence located in the area in question. They were quick to approach, and they did not care what the typing was.

1st Assault - Crime does not pay!

On 05/17/1992 the group spotted a vehicle with a couple inside; it was a quick action to immediately announce the assault and determined that the victims put their belongings on the hood of the car.

Thus couple and vehicle were then driven to a wilderness and removed then the vehicle was plucked and the victims locked in the trunk of the vehicle.

In that interval the vehicle RP 502 in which the policing of the Area 01 by the official was hidden.

The driver who was in superior order waited passively in a pre-established place.

So the group acted and left the place as if nothing had happened; where the rest of the work would normally take place until the dawn of the day for surrender of the next shift.

After all this criminal work the life of the PM Officer would never be the same became a constant questioning in the form of psychological torture without any apparent response.

That same morning of 05/18/1992 when he arrived at his residence he was asked by his mother:

    – My son it is all things all right with you? (Mom)

    – Mother is all wonderful! (Lieutenant Geovaldo)

That lady leaned close where he sat and gave her a look of concern.

This was a gesture of questioning from her mother, but it was useless. Because he did not have the courage to tell her what was happening. Lieutenant Geovaldo had become a thoughtful and cunning bitter man knew that he was living in a dilemma as if he were traveling along the common-sense counterpart of a path parallel to his own contradictory life.

So he had no strength left to stop since he even thought of himself as perhaps a typical reaction of warning against the common sense of morals already corrupted or else he will never again practice such things!

2nd Assault - Crime does not pay!

On June 12, 1992, a vehicle was still visible in front of a luxurious block of apartments at dawn. The RP 502 patrol noted that there was a couple inside the vehicle.

Sometime later the occupants of the vehicle for lack of prudence thought to be safe in the place relaxed and by the negligence they became easy prey for the assault.

Around 2:00 a.m. Lieutenant PM and his cronies, after having placed the VTR 502 in a safe and concealed place away from suspicions, changed their robes, that is to say, they removed the military uniforms and set out for another approach to crime; and the operational theater of crime was already done. This time the victims as previously mentioned were placed inside the trunk of the vehicle as they were usually taken to a remote and wild place on the hills of the Future’s Beach. Then comes the ad is a robbery! Nobody move! (Lieutenant Geovaldo). Moments of silence and tension! Please do not do anything with us; you can take anything you want! (Victim)

The next morning, they reached the end of the service scale, so later on, another criminal patrol was preparing for the next action.

3rd Assault - Crime does not pay!

The day is 06/17/1992 once again escalated as Supervision Officer of the Area 01 Lieutenant Geovaldo commanded RP 502 together with the partners in the night scale.

That evening, at around 10:00 p.m. the Officer patrolled the shore of the Future’s Beach, following a COPOM scale.

In fact, the patrol usually ran along the length of the beach and along its stalls and as there was no event everything seemed calm they also received no calls from the Center for Military Police Operations. (COPOM)

In the face of the silence Lieutenant Geovaldo heart is filled itself with malice as if it were necessary to practice any evil act because the "evil in its essence is cunning" this is a kind of silence that no one notices (symptoms) until it is already installed (wrapped) so that it is consumed. (Practiced)

"Not that which goes into the mouth makes a man unclean, but that which comes out of the mouth. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, the taking of life, broken faith between the married, unclean desires of the flesh, taking of property, false witness, and bitter words." (Matthew 15:11,19)

In the face of these events around 22:40 p.m. a vehicle was parked in the wilderness. At the opportunity, RP 502 was hidden among the darkness of the beach huts and on foot they followed the sides of the huts. The gang was positioned for another criminal action audaciously viewed
