I would like to first of all thank God for the wisdom, guidance, vision and strength to see this work through. For helping me to draw lessons from my own experiences with men (absent or present) and be able to share those lessons with the rest of the world. He truly held me down in the most awesome ways and I am forever grateful to Him.
I also want to thank my parents for just being awesome, my two mums and dad. Thank you so much for the love and support.
To my siblings who have always been with me, I love you and I am thankful to you guys.
Of course, not forgetting my amazing babies Nokutenda, Natasha, Wandifadza, Anashe and Taropafadzwa. You guys are the reason I do this.
Special thanks to everyone who helped in the crafting of this book, my awesome friend Tatenda, Pastor Nhengu, Aunty Vicky and Phoenix Publishing.
Introduction
O
ver the years most talk has been on empowering women, helping them to be emancipated and developing them and several programs have been set in motion to see to it that the mission is accomplished. There have been programs that drive for educating the girl-child, scholarships handed out to girls and even a bank created just for women! Commendable work I must say because women all around the world have been challenged to become better beings and to develop themselves. However, my question is who is watching out for the boys then? It seems the whole world is focused on ladies and much attention has been put in helping women yet it seems society has forgotten men, including the same men who are activists for women. And as much as all this has been done by them, society has to understand that there are still good men out there. Men who take responsibility, who understand what real love is, men who understand that women are not objects and can treat them with the respect they deserve. This is a message to you THE MAN. The man who wakes up every morning to work hard for his family, the man who has made an honest woman out of the woman he has been dating by marrying her, the man who accepted responsibility for that pregnancy even though he was not ready to raise a child, the man who opens the door for his lady, that one who is not afraid of holding her handbag in public or doing some lingerie and pad shopping with his lady, the man who remembers where he came from and is always ready to protect and serve.
The world has to understand that as much as they are paying close attention to the woman and her rights and welfare, they should not neglect the man too. Someone has to be there to remind the men of the values and principles that make a man ‘the man.’ Someone has to be able to remind men of the traits that make them men that a society and
