When Love is Found Unexpectedly
Miss Lydia Browning was the daughter of a wealthy tea merchant. Contracted to marry The Earl of Harwick when she was ten, Lydia tried everything to get out of the arranged marriage to the Gentry she found old and boring.
The Earl bought Lydia for a bargain price; now, her dowry was five times greater than when the contract was first reached. All would be grand if Lydia did not despise Lord Harwick, so how was the Gentleman supposed to strike up a conversation when all Lydia did was scowl and run away?

A LORD, A GIRL, AND A GARDEN
1803 ~ LONDON, ENGLAND
The Maberton Estate was a wonderful property just outside of London. A sprawling property with its own gardens and fountains, trees that gathered around to create its own boulevard, and wrought iron gates that kept the property firmly out of pry view.
The gossip around town had the Estate sold that summer to a trader newly coming into his wealth. Not a very welcome gossip, mind you. A wealthy man was all well and good, but newly coming into wealth only meant that you might not be in it for long, and Maberton belonging to somebody like that was well…not very well received amongst the ton.
But then again, many of them were yet to meet Mr. Browning who was rather a pleasant sort of man to meet, and young Miss Browning who could be quite unpleasant when she wanted to.
This morning, later in the morning of course; after breakfast had been taken and most people were visiting parks and friends to have tea and spread news, gossip carried that the Harwick carriage had been seen riding through the Maberton gates—into the property!

Ernest was a strapping young man, newly twenty and two but already well versed in the governing of his Earldom. He handled, now, most of his father’s affair, and was an Earl himself in all but name. There were reports to read, documents that needed verification and thorough scrutiny, but all that would have to wait because his father had gotten it into
