Jane: A Born to Serve Bonus Chapter

    London - May 12, 1812

The residents of twenty-three Gracechurch Street sat at the breakfast table, enjoying a hearty meal while planning an excursion to Bond Street. Mrs. Gardiner, glancing at Jane Bennet with a warm smile, announced, I think today is the perfect day to purchase a new gown for you, Jane. Bond Street has such delightful selections.

Jane blushed slightly, her smile radiant. Thank you, Aunt. That sounds lovely.

Their conversation was interrupted by the sharp sound of the door knocker echoing through the house. Moments later, the butler entered the room, carrying a letter on a silver tray. He approached Jane and said, A letter for you, Miss Bennet, sealed with the Darcy crest.

Jane’s eyes widened in surprise and curiosity as she accepted the letter. Her fingers traced the unfamiliar crest before she broke the seal. As she unfolded the paper, her heart raced with trepidation. The room fell silent as everyone watched her reaction.

    She began to read aloud:

    May 7, 1812 – Scotland

    Dearest Jane,

A few days ago, Mr. Darcy proposed to me. I accepted after a long conversation
