About this ebook
He's the one man who could never want me. Until one night, he does.
We may have grown up together, but my brother's best friend has never seen me as anything but a kid.
When he rescues me from a work trip disaster, he's a total gentleman.
Worse, he's going to treat me the way he always has.
But I'm tired of being looked at like anything but a woman.
Especially when my body is acutely aware of how much of a man Aaron Lewis is. He has a body that I know can make the ache turn into electricity.
We're both stressed, and we make a deal: one night, no strings.
But you don't simply walk away from a night like that.
She's the one woman I can never have. It shouldn't be so hard to keep my hands off my best friend's little sister.
There're hundreds of miles between us. There's no reason to have her sleeping in my bed, yet here she is. I know better, but when she looks at me like she's starving for my touch, I'm powerless to resist.
One night. That's what we agree to.
One night to tease Gwen, to touch her, to taste her.
Simple.
Temporary.
It'll have to be enough.
But when she gets pregnant from one careless slip-up, I come to find out there's no such thing as simple with Gwen.

Accidentally Knocked Up by My Brother’s Best Friend - Vesper Young
Chapter 1
image-placeholderIdidn’t mind airports, in principle. Sure, you had your fair share of ornery travelers between sleep-deprived families and couples frantic that they’d missed their connecting flights. And literally no one could be in a good mood after sitting in those increasingly cramped seats for four hours.
But when you grew up in a town so small most local maps skipped right over it, airports were usually pretty entertaining.
Right up until the car rental was screwed up and the taxi drivers were on strike.
What do you mean ‘sold out’? I had a reservation,
I pleaded, pressing my palms into the counter to try and look over the counter at the attendant.
The guy shrugged, unconcerned. First come, first serve.
But I had a reservation,
I repeated, like saying it again would magically make more cars appear in the empty lot.
Another shrug. You can try a taxi.
Really?
I gestured to the TV playing in the corner, conveniently on a local news channel that was going over, at that exact moment, the national cabbie strike.
The guy turned. Looked at the screen.
And then he shrugged again.
Ugh.
Are you done yet?
another ornery traveler asked behind me.
I blew a breath through my lips, exasperated. Guess so.
Knock yourself out.
Okay, Gwen. Think. It hit me: I could download one of those ride-share apps. They were pointless in Juniper Cove, but that was a perfect solution. It took my phone about ten minutes to download the first one. I nearly cheered when I hit the sign-up screen. Or actually, I had cheered, earning multiple weird looks and at least one wary mother ushering her child away from me. Whoops.
My cheer turned into a barely contained wail. The wait time was over eighty minutes, and if I tried to submit a bill that size to Bert in accounting, he’d threaten to have me written up.
My phone pinged. Landed yet?
I dialed my best friend.
Hey Gwen,
Daisy answered cheerfully. The girl was always in a good mood.
Hey,
I said with significantly less cheer.
What’s wrong?
she asked immediately.
They rented my car and don’t have another one for me.
Oh damn. Can you take an Uber?
I sighed and plopped on a hard bench. No dice. I’m stranded.
Don’t be silly,
Daisy said. Aaron can pick you up.
Aaron, Daisy’s older brother and the best friend of my own brother, had struck out of our small town and moved to the big city. I’d honestly forgotten he was even in LA.
Don’t bother him. I know he’s busy.
I could just about hear Daisy’s eye roll. He spends too much time working anyway. He’ll be happy to get you. Just let me call him.
Daisy hung up before I could protest further.
A few minutes later, another text came through. I expected it to be from Daisy, but instead Aaron’s name popped up.
ETA 25.
Impersonal as ever.
I sent him my location, since the car rentals were separate from the main airport, and waited. A sleek but not entirely unsensible car pulled up, the blend of Aaron’s significant salary and an upbringing by the Lewises.
Aaron got out and greeted me with a chin lift. Suddenly, insensibly, I wished I’d found a bathroom to change in, or at least freshen up. I had no doubt I looked like hell, with my hair up in a messy bun and my sweats that, though comfortable for travel, were nothing like the complimentary athleisure that was in vogue these days. Aaron, in contrast, looked like he could’ve stepped out of Vogue. One of those editions that touted fancy casual, with navy tailored slacks and a button-down shirt that rolled up to his elbows and styled hair that I wanted to run my fingers through.
When he traveled for work, he probably wore a suit.
I wanted to resent the outfit just because it was unequal, but it wasn’t that the clothes were nice. It was that they made it impossible not to notice the man in them. The way his chest filled the shirt without quite straining it. The veins in his arms as he came over and took my suitcase from my hands.
"I can put
