    PREFACE

This Book Revisiting Time to Find Dad is collection of memories of my beloved father Late Shri Sadananda Bose. He has been source of inspiration for me, ever since I started understanding the world around. In him I always found an honest, sincere, simple and truthful man; who loved humanity, who loved nature, his country, people and all creation of God. He was a profoundly religious man, who loved to serve poor and needy people. A very punctual man by nature, always advocated punctuality in every aspect. He was a man who spread smile and happiness wherever he went. Of Course! he was a dedicated father; a father who made me feel proud to be known as his daughter. Above all, he was a complete man and human being in true sense.

This book is an effort to remember his personality and important aspects of his life. There are very few people like him, who though born and brought up in a middle-class family, has been so prompt and sincere in his responsibilities and duties in every step of his life. He was a real successful man, who had successfully maintained his duty and relation to each and every one until his last breath.

I don’t know, how much justice I could do in expressing my father’s personality but I swear I made a sincere attempt, with all my efforts. I hope, my father wherever he may be, will bless me as ever. He always wanted me to write, as he himself was interested in literature. I suppose, destiny wanted, that I should start writing with my father’s Biography. It’s a honor for me.

We all love our parents. In today’s world we see that as a child grows up and by the time, he himself becomes a parent, he becomes gradually indifferent to his parent. Though some may have personal reason of their own. But we should never forget our parents, under any circumstances, because they are the ones, who had made sacrifices in every step to bring us up and structure our life. When our parents grow old, it’s our turn to take care and love them, just as they did when we were child. We should leave no chance, in serving our parents as long as they live, because after their death, there would be nothing, but only memories and regret.

If after reading this book, a single person changes his attitude towards his parents, I will believe that my effort has been successful.

(I am really thankful to Vinay Sam David who did all the tedious typing of the Manuscripts and also a deepest gratitude to Aquib and Apna Publisher, Srinagar for making this book happen. My constant source of inspiration were my brother, sisters, my children, my daughter-in-law, my friends and my furry kitten Chotka who though no more but kept the empathy in me alive and above all my grandson Mihhir, whose presence keeps me in positive vibes.)

ife is very unpredictable. You never know what is going to happen the next very second. The wheel of life goes on and on and so along with it, your fortune also changes and alters every second. You may smile now, but unaware of the fact that the next minute has a disaster waiting for you. A Shattering disaster, which may even snatch your near and dear ones away from you. But man, still survives; he has to live, though you may not want to live, still you have to carry on in this world, as dying is not so easy, and ending your life is not easy. In such a situation, man becomes like a machine, which works perfectly, but is lifeless!!!

It was 14th May 2002, the day seemed to be a normal day like any other day, but we were busy, as those days Babu (My Father) was not keeping well. Then, for a month I was staying with him, as he needed care. Shelly, my sister also came from Nashik, to spend her vacations, with her son Joy. Those days, we were mostly busy with Bubu. It seemed all the hidden ailments had started popping out. He had problems with pressure, asthma, heart problems, weakness and many others. Even the children of the house joy, Chunnu, Goltu were busy with their Daduda (Grandfather), as they fondly called him. They would rush with the slightest sound of daduda, some taking care of Babu’s food, his Horlicks, his medicines. Some would hand out the vessel, where he omitted and the other would help him wipe his face with a towel, still, some would wash him. Even my son Goltu eight years then, knew how to operate the nebulizer, whenever his daduda felt breathlessness. We took him to regular medical checkups and gave him the required prescribed medicines, but nothing seems to work. But gradually with our care and God’s blessing showed a miracle, as he started feeling better. A few days before the doctor had said, All the reports were perfectly okay. That day he seemed to be happy and smiling as he was feeling better. It was so relaxing to see him smiling.
