Pool Hall Blues - Samuel Ludke
Lost in the maze
In the shadowed folds of memory's grasp,
Where whispers linger and echoes rasp,
I trace the contours of a love once bright,
Now veiled in sorrow, lost in endless night.
Through fields of yesterdays, I wander deep,
Where tender moments like ghosts still creep,
A tapestry woven with joy and pain,
Yet woven now with threads of disdain.
In the garden of our dreams, once lush and green,
Now lies barren, where only shadows preen,
Petals of promises, now wilted and torn,
Amidst the thorns of regret, I am forlorn.
How did we falter, where did we stray?
In the labyrinth of hearts, we lost our way,
Each step a stumble, each word a blade,
Etched in the heartache that won't fade.
I search the pages of our history's tome,
Where laughter and love found their home,
But the ink has bled, the words obscured,
And our symphony of souls, now unheard.
The ache of absence, a silent scream,
Lost in the crevices of a shattered dream,
Time's relentless tide washes us apart,
Leaving only fragments of a fractured heart.
Yet through the ache, a flicker remains,
A shard of hope amidst the rains,
That someday, in the tapestry we've spun,
Our paths may cross beneath the sun.
But for now, I mourn what once we had,
In the echoes of the good and bad,
Lost in the
