Let’s be real; The effects of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), specifically in adult women, have received little research interest. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that most of the research done on ADHD has primarily been focused on teens, kids, and men. Research involving children indicates boys receive precise ADHD diagnoses more frequently than girls. While we can point our fingers at gender bias and/or ignored ADHD symptoms, this is clearly an important issue as it has diverse effects on a woman’s life if overlooked (Sreenivas, 2023).

The pathway for women looking for support and acknowledgement has become quite difficult because of the misunderstandings and preconceptions that have been reinforced by this outrageous lack of attention.
