Don't Come Save Me - Samuel Ludke
Bids farewell
In the quiet hours of twilight's embrace,
Where shadows dance and memories trace,
There lies a tale of hearts entwined,
Yet destined to part, fate unkind.
We journeyed through the fields of dreams,
Where laughter echoed in gentle streams,
Hand in hand, our spirits soared high,
Underneath the azure-painted sky.
But whispers came upon the breeze,
Promises made began to freeze,
A chill that seeped into our embrace,
Turning warmth to an icy trace.
For you chose a path beyond my reach,
Leaving behind the lessons we would teach,
In the tender moments we once shared,
Now scattered like petals, lost and bared.
How swiftly love can turn to dust,
When dreams unravel, lost in mistrust,
Leaving us alone when we were close,
Yearning for what we loved the most.
Yet time, relentless, marches on,
Healing wounds that once were drawn,
And though the ache may never fade,
In solitude, memories cascade.
For in the stillness of this lonely hour,
I find solace in a fragile flower,
A reminder of the love we knew,
Before farewell became our cue.
So here I stand, amidst the ache,
The bittersweetness of heartache,
Knowing that though you are gone,
In my soul, your echo lingers on.
And though you left us, close no more,
I'll cherish what we had before,
For love's true essence cannot cease,
Even when it bids farewell, in peace.
Split
In the depths of longing and regret,
Where memories swirl like silken threads,
I ponder the moments we once knew,
Wishing we could return, start anew.
Two hundred lines to weave the tale,
Of love's embrace and dreams set sail,
Yet underneath the surface gleams,
The ache of love that shattered dreams.
We loved you deeply, without refrain,
Yet felt the sting of heartache's pain,
For love can bloom and wither fast,
Leaving echoes of a love that couldn't last.
In the quiet of the midnight hour,
I trace the contours of our love's bower,
Where laughter echoed, hearts entwined,
Before the echoes faded, left behind.
Oh, to turn back time's relentless flow,
To cherish what we let slip and go,
To mend the fractures, bridge the divide,
Where love once bloomed, now tears reside.
I wish we could come back to
