Dedication
I would like to thank God for always guiding me in good times and in bad, to my wife and son for helping me find my passion and giving me the strength to pursue it. To my sister and her husband, who believed in me when I found it hard to believe in myself, and my nieces, who are an inspiration. And to my brother and his family – I am so grateful that we finally had a chance to reconcile.
This book is a long time in the making. It spans many years as a vocalist and artist, and so many people have inspired my creativity.
To all of them, I give my thanks.

Ever since I was a young boy, I had always loved soul music and the artists that made it, from James Brown to The Drifters to labels such as Motown and Stax. I always knew I wanted to be a singer. I don’t believe I had idols as such - more artists I admired for the way they sang and presented themselves on stage, with dynamic sounds and fantastic dance moves. I just knew that
