About this ebook

I'm a simple working class man. I don't need much to get by, and I'm content with my life.

Until I see her. One look is all it takes for me to become completely and irrevocably obsessed.

I'm convinced she's an angel sent down straight from heaven, but my little angel looks so sad, and I'm on a mission to find out why.

She might not know me—yet—but I'm going to scoop her up and take care of her. I'll put all her broken pieces back together. After all, I'm a builder, and building something together with the girl I know is meant to be mine will be my life's greatest masterpiece.

They might not be the richest guys in town, but they're hard workers who are passionate about what they do. They're just as passionate about the women they set their sights on too.

When these working class daddies find the women of their dreams, they'll be unapologetically over-the-top when it comes to making them theirs and only theirs. They'll do whatever it takes to prove their love—even if it calls for extreme measures. They might be a little bit—okay a lot—obsessed, but you'll love every minute of it!

If obsessive, possessive, over-the-top daddies who want nothing more than to take care of their women are your jam, then you're going to love these working class daddies!

The Construction Worker's Obsession - Emma Bray

    CHAPTER ONE

    Jon

I temporarily remove the hard hat from my head and wipe the sweat from my brow. This summer heat blows, but I savor the work. It keeps me busy, and believe it or not, I enjoy the physical labor. There's nothing like a long, hard day's work to make a man feel accomplished.

As I stand there taking a momentary breather, I can't help but admire the beautiful scenery around me. The construction site overlooks a gorgeous valley with a river flowing through it. The sun is slowly setting, casting a warm, golden light over everything.

I hear footsteps approaching and turn to see my boss, Tom, walking toward me. Hey Jon, great job today, he says with a smile. We're making some serious progress on this site.

I nod in agreement, feeling a sense of pride welling up inside me.

Tom continues, Listen, I know it's late, but I was wondering if you could stay a little longer tonight. We've got a deadline approaching, and we really need to finish pouring the foundation for the new building.

I pause for a moment, considering his request. It's been a long day and I'm exhausted, but I also know how important it is to finish the job on time. Sure, I can stay a little longer, I reply, putting my hard hat back on.

Tom grins, clearly relieved. Great, let's get back to work.

As we walk back to the construction site, I can't help but feel a little excited at the prospect of working late. There's something about the quiet of the night and the sound of crickets chirping that makes me feel alive.

As we start pouring the foundation, I lose myself in the work. Time seems to pass by quickly as I focus on my task. It's only when I look up and see Tom checking his watch that I realize how late it's gotten.

Hey, Jon, me and the rest of the guys are going to head out.

I glance over at what I have left unfinished. I know that we can always get to it tomorrow, but I hate leaving something not quite completed yet.

You mind if I stay a while longer and finish this patch? I ask my boss.

He blinks in surprise but nods. You don't have to do that, man, but, sure. If you want to stay later, by all means. You have my blessing.

He laughs. My boss already knows how OCD I can be about my work.

Tom and the rest of the crew leave, and then it's just me, myself, and I on the site.

I savor the silence, taking my time and getting lost in my thoughts until I finally complete my task to my satisfaction.

When I'm done, I stand back and critically survey my work, making sure it meets my expectations.

It's only then that I notice a light on in the huge house right next to the site.

Well, house is an understatement. The place is a mansion. But what really catches my attention is the woman on the balcony.

My chest tightens at the sight of her, and I rub my hand over it absently as if I can physically ease the ache. I don't know what it is about this girl, but the sight of her does something to me.

It's like nothing I've ever felt before. I feel my heart racing in my chest. My palms are sweating, and a lump forms in my throat.

There's something almost heartbreakingly familiar about her, and I realize that doesn't make a lick of sense, but that's just how I feel—like she's something I've known my whole life and have been searching for, but I never realized it until this very moment.

    I don't think she
