    The sun hung low on the horizon, painting the dusty streets of Coyote Bluff in hues of amber and gold. Sheriff Eli McGraw leaned against the worn wooden railing of his office porch, his weathered hands clasped around a steaming cup of coffee. His keen eyes scanned the quiet town, taking in the familiar sights and sounds of another day drawing to a close.

    A tumbleweed rolled lazily down the main street, stirring up small clouds of dust in its wake. The distant clanging of the blacksmith's hammer and the muffled laughter from the saloon provided a comforting backdrop to the sheriff's evening routine.

    Eli took a sip of his coffee, savoring the bitter taste. His mind wandered to the past week's events – a minor dispute between ranchers, a drunken brawl at the saloon, and a lost child reunited with her worried parents—nothing the seasoned lawman couldn't handle with a firm hand and a fair mind.
