- The Marriage institution is sacred, honorable, of great price and ordained by God. It is lifelong, more of a covenant and not just a contractual agreement. Collegiate dictionary defined marriage variously as the state of being united as spouses in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law. The rite by which the married status is effected. Wedlock, matrimony involves the wedding ceremony and attendant festivities or formalities.

Holy matrimony or marriage is highly regarded by God for procreation and companionship. It started in the garden of Eden when God said it is not good for man to be alone so he provided a helper for man.

Gen. 2:18 (AMP)

Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
