    Bibliography

    Introduction

I should frankly state that the content of this book is based on a sermon that has imparted many lives over the years as I went around preaching on revival programmes in different churches, as well as to my global audiences on various social media platforms.

I admit that there are several prescriptions when it comes to dealing with the problem of anxiety, such as the medical; emotional, psychological way, etc. But the kind of prescription contained in this book for the worried is the Divine one, whose roots stem from the Bible. This particular one gives credit to and focuses on that which the Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippian church when they had become worried in life. This was because they constantly faced several faith-related challenges from within and outside the church, particularly from those who opposed them over their faith in Christ.

The structure and the delivery of this inspiring preaching sermon are based on (Philippians 4:6-7) and aimed at furnishing readers with biblically prescribed and well-spelled guidelines to effectively help the worried out of their state of anxiety and despondency into the healthy realm of peace, joy, fresh hope and assurance in God.

Having put on my theological lenses, I hereby invite you to join me do an exegesis of the above-quoted scripture which will be particularly driven by an expository approach from the beginning through to the end. The aim here is to help readers experience God’s undying love and concern, especially for those in His Kingdom who are truly worried due to disappointments, delays, persecutions, oppositions, and vicissitudes in life, all because of their profession of faith in Christ Jesus.

    Chapter One

    History Behind The First Beneficiaries

    1. Understanding The Emphasis

Under this firstborn chapter, I would use the opening space here to briefly furnish you with some historical facts about the Pauline established church in Philippi; as well as the relationship that existed between Apostle Paul and the church.

An informed reader like you may pose the question, ‘’What has the history of the Philippian church got to do with this book title?’’ I would attempt to answer this legitimate question by saying that as far as this Pauline prescription to worried Christians is concerned, the need to allocate a chapter space and briefly narrate the history behind the Philippian Church cannot be over-emphasized. This is because, the whole revelatory knowledge about this Divine prescription for the worried Christian stems from what the Apostle (Paul) wrote to the Philippian church when he had learned of the high levels of anxiety, they were battling with for holding on to their faith in Christ. This important written piece of a Divine prescription was later disseminated throughout the churches of Christ in scriptural formats.

    2. The Call To Preach At Macedonia

Philippi was an important city in the Roman province of Macedonia, an area that now lies in modern Greece. It lies along the Via Egnatia, the main road connecting the city of Rome to the eastern provinces of its empire. Back then, it possessed a special status with Rome, so that it had the same rights as
