    IMMORTALITY IN CHRIST |

    INTRODUCTION

    G

od would always operate by the principles and rules He has established at the council of the Godhead before the foundations of the universe. For instance, God has given the earth to man and man gave it to the devil, so it must take man to take the earth back from the devil. This is why God did not die on the cross to save man and restore the ownership of the earth to man as God but as a man. God cannot work on earth except through a man.

Luke 18:1 says, And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

Men are to pray to God who already knows all things. This is because of God’s principle of fellowship and mutual expression of will. There are many of these divine principles, but in the context of this book, let us look at how things reached out to God in heaven from the earth before Jesus came.

It is written in Genesis 18:20-21, And the LORD said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

This is a principle of God’s operation on the earth. There must always be a strong cause for God to take a major action in the earth realm, because of the principle of mutual partnership. This works in both negative and positive situations. We can see this in Genesis 19:13, For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

The cry of a people or a city both in the negative and positive must wax great in the face of the Lord to trigger a major action from heaven.

In the case of the Israelites, it is said in Exodus 2:23, And it came to pass in process of time that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

We see how it is said that they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

This is what the Lord Himself said in Exodus 3: 7-9, And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

A cry in the context of this book is a strong desire for immortality now. When the Church strongly desires to be clothed with immortality, it shall wax great in the face of the Lord and there shall be no more death in the Church. A generation of the Church shall arise and fulfil this and cause death to be experimentally subdued.

This is a corporate responsibility of the Church to desire and prove the perfect will of God, which is immortality in Christ. The glorious Church the Lord Jesus is coming for is the Church that overcomes death; that is to say, whether one believes in immortality now, some people would be alive when the Lord comes and that means they will never experience bodily death.

We also saw how men with one heart and imagination made God to come down and take a major action in Genesis 11:4-7, And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

That is the power of unity; as it is confirmed in Ephesians 4:13, Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

In the case of immortality, God has already done it for us in Christ. We just have to strongly desire it in order to be conformed to this state experientially. There are people who would say immortality is not possible because even great men of God in history believed in immortality but are dead.

The truth is, we do not live by the experiences of others. We live by the original purpose, counsel, will and intent of God. This is the mindset of an overcomer.

We need not to dilute God’s original will and intent because of contrary experiences.

It is written, for example, in Daniel 3:16-18, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said they would never bow even if God did not save them. We believe in God’s original will for life and immortality, which is brought to light by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even if God reveals to us that it is His permissive will for us to die in the body, to be raised at the resurrection of the saints, at the coming of Christ, we will keep believing in this immortality because it is His perfect and original will in Christ.

The saints who believed in immortality and are dead are not failures but great generals of faith who believed what God has said even unto death.

Thus, Hebrews 11:13, These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

The same thing is said in 1 Peter 1:9-12, Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

The Psalmist also desired immortality from far, saying in Psalm 118:17, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

He foresaw that death is not part of the works of the Lord. These saints rejoiced with the reality of immortality in Christ even if they could not experience it. Just as the Lord Jesus said to the Jews in John 8:56, Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

This book is not to condemn Christians who are dead or will die physically. This book is to challenge those who choose to overcome death in the body, and tarry till the Lord Jesus Christ comes for them, or just like Enoch and Elijah, be translated into heaven so they would not die bodily.

The principle of Romans 12:2 says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

By this principle, there is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. The perfect will of God is that we overcome death in the body. If anyone does not overcome death bodily here and now, it does not make him a failure nor a weakling. This book is for those predestined overcoming believers to arise and conform to their original purpose and nature in Christ Jesus.

Study this book to understand, and not to argue. Let life and immortality rule your consciousness.

I have seen so many promising young people with great prophecies and mandates on their lives die untimely or prematurely, and it was not God who killed them, neither was it the will of God for them to die at that time. There is a responsibility on our side in cooperation, coordination, and alignment with the perfect will of God.

As you read and study this book, any attempt of death over your life is permanently suspended, and let mortality be swallowed up by the seed of immortality in you, by the authority of the resurrection of Christ Jesus!

    CHAPTER ONE

    THE FIRSTBORN OF

    EVERY CREATURE

    ––––––––

    C

olossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Let us briefly explore the biblical principle of the firstborn, which is ultimately fulfilled in the risen Christ as the firstborn from the dead.

According to God’s Wisdom in redemption, the firstborn is not someone born first but someone who overcomes by being in alignment with His eternal purpose and counsel. This started with Esau and Jacob, where though Jacob was not the firstborn according to the flesh, but he obtained the blessing and the birthright by divine alignment.

It is said in Genesis 32:26 "And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I
