Description

Kim Raver is an actor, director, and executive producer. She discusses her latest project “Tempting Fate,” the importance of getting more women behind the camera, and why the narrative of "female-directed and female lead action movies don't make money" doesn't hold up.
On this episode, Kim sits down with Alyssa to talk about her first time directing, why gender parity is so crucial, and how working on Grey’s Anatomy with Shonda Rhimes inspired her to take on more in the industry. In 2018, women only comprised 20% of all directors, writers, producers, executive producers, editors, and cinematographers working on the top 250 domestic grossing films. Alyssa and Kim discuss how to fix this and what needs to happen next. Their Lifetime movie “Tempting Fate” airs June 15th at 8/7c.
