Description

Tarana Burke began the Me Too Movement in 2006 to help survivors of sexual violence, particularly women and girls of color from low-income communities, find pathways to healing.
On the first episode of “Sorry Not Sorry”, Tarana joins Alyssa to discuss the power of the Me Too Movement, the importance of what happens after survivors say those words, and the most rewarding part of the work she’s doing.
Following Alyssa’s conversation with Tarana, we hear from presidential candidate Joe Biden about his work with It’s On Us, which launched in 2014. The national movement to end sexual assault focuses on the importance of engaging everyone in the conversation to end sexual violence. VP Biden and Alyssa discuss the importance of Title IX, why men need to be included in the conversation, and more.
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains information about sexual assault and/or violence which may be triggering to survivors.
