Description
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.
SERMON DESCRIPTION
In October we launch a new theme for the month and it is Evil. Few topics are as exciting or challenging for a theologian or philosopher. To reconcile the purpose of creation or the existence of God with the reality of evil is the challenge of every moral person. The temptation to be good, it seems, is often less powerful than the temptation to immorality in all its titillating and exhilarating forms.
Last month I discussed how we can avoid being thrown off course by difficult people and situations, and this month I’ll also explore how temptation and evil can knock us off our path.
Come and explore with me the nature of our identity, who we think we are, and why it matters.
