She was also the first woman to be put in charge of Homeland Security for the state of Illinois. She received the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit for her leadership. During her military career, Colonel Jill led hundreds of men and women around the world in war and peace. She is a sought-after keynote speaker and author of the book The Courage to Take Command: Leadership Lessons from a Military Trailblazer.
