Description

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about how they along with the family are going to go see the new move "The Meg". They also, talk about "Shark Week" on the Discovery Channel. Then, two men in Missouri claim they saw an unidentified bipedal creature. The eyewitnesses said they were hunting in the woods when they came across the hairy being on November 24, 2017. Then, in July of 1878 the New York Times wrote an article titled “What a West Virginia Farmer Saw.” The article talked about a telegram that had come from a small town in Parkersburg, West Virginia and addressed to the Cincinnati Commercial Tribune in regards to a terrifying event witnessed by a couple of farmers early one evening. After the break the boys speak with personal friend Joshua Cutchin about his latest book "Thieves In The Night: A Brief History of Supernatural Child Abductions" Folklore has always warned of hidden dangers lurking in the shadows, otherworldly beings who seek to steal that which parents hold most dear. In the first book dedicated solely to the subject, Joshua Cutchin traces this primal concern from antiquity to the modern era—beginning with worldwide tales of faeries, changelings, spirits, demons, and monsters, before examining more contemporary phenomena such as Sasquatch kidnappings, alien abductions, and mysterious disappearances in national parks. Folklore, medicine, science, and spirituality come together for a uniquely scholarly perspective on the thieves in the night. All of this and more on this episode of Expanded Perspectives!
