Description

This week, Kate takes on all different types of dress codes. After seeing a meme about how nothing brings women together quite like an unclear dress code, she was inspired to go through confusing and specific wedding/event dress codes, i.e. snappy casual, that coincidentally make her want to casually snap at the host. After going through some examples of listeners' unclear dress codes submitted on Instagram, she switches gears to discuss school dress codes and the unfair double standards upheld in their enforcement. She explores modern dress codes in different areas, discusses the implications of authority figures' commentary on adolescent women's bodies, the emphasis they imply on male education, and talks through some of the shockingly discriminatory language found in many dress codes. After that, she finishes off the episode by reading listener-submitted stories with her sister Kelly, about both school and wedding dress code mishaps.
