...And more importantly, what can we learn from it? We're looking at the updated organizational talent rankings from both MLB Pipeline and Baseball America to determine true talent level of minor league teams. In some cases the variance between the two sites can be distilled down to the value of a single player - OF Jasson Dominguez of the New York Yankees, 1B Xavier Isaac for the Tampa Bay Rays - for example, and sometimes it's a larger conversation about pitching depth (St. Louis Cardinals), possible outfield alignments (Milwaukee Brewers), or maybe just bad timing (the Kansas City Royals graduated most of their top prospects before these lists came out). In two cases, the minor league cupboard is empty, but because the team used it to get to the World Series (Houston Astros) and hoist the trophy as champions (Atlanta Braves).
