Description
Gonzaga University Classics Professor, Amy Pistone (@apistone) joins host Emily Edwards (@MsEmilyEdwards) to discuss the history of THE ODYSSEY, the unexpected feminism of Penelope, and all the millions of ways that Odysseus is one epic fuckboi. Summary of THE ODYSSEYOdysseus, the great Greek general from Ithaca, is trying to return home to his wife, Penelope, after the Trojan War has kept him away for many years. But he's pissed off the god of the sea, Poseidon, so much so that Poseidon keeps blowing his ship off-course and into the paths of many trials. At each one, Odysseus proves he's a terrible person, and when he returns home, he viciously kills his wife's suitors so he can have her back. Our GDPR privacy policy was updated on August 8, 2022.
