Description
New reports indicate that it’s now a fight between the Miami Hurricanes and Alabama Crimson Tide for 4-star offensive tackle Olaus Alinen. Nick Saban is apparently going “all in” for him, despite Miami trending strongly for this player in recent weeks. Alinen is making his announcement this Friday. Will he pick Miami, or will the late push from Bama get him over the finish line? Alinen is among the top tackles from the Class of 2023.
Host Alex Donno breaks down what he’s hearing about Alinen’s recruitment. It appears Miami are still the favorites but Bama is gaining steam. Is there any cause for concern in the recruitment of 4-star safety Jayden Bonsu? He’s strongly projected to pick the Hurricanes, but him moving his announcement from July 20th back to July 23rd is creating some concern. Donno gives his take on whether Miami fans have anything to worry about.
Alex reads and answers some awesome questions from listeners to @LockedOnCanes on twitter. What is a reasonable expectation for Mario Cristobal in the next decade or so (we hope) at the University of Miami? Are championships a must? Will Tyler Van Dyke live up to the hype in year 2? What can we expect from Romello Brinson and the rest of Miami’s wide receivers? Which tight end out of Will Mallory, Elijah Arroyo and Jaleel Skinner will have the best season?
