Description

The Artist In The Castle...
During the 2019 SCAD Savannah Commencement, the usual anticipation and celebration were heightened tenfold when one surprise guest entered from stage right, Jeremy Irons. In his incisive remarks, Irons encouraged the graduates to carry on the bold experimentation and curiosity go their university years, to create with full hearts, and never to forget their fellow artists. In 2020, Irons returned via Guests and Gusto to visit with Paula Wallace and SCAD students once more. Since his first visit, Irons garnered an Emmy nomination for his role in HBO's "Watchmen" and is starring alongside Diane Keaton in the soon to be released "Love, Weddings & Other Disasters." Throughout his life and career, Irons has remained a tactile artist and a steward for his many passions from gardening, to horses, to architecture. In today's episode, Paula Wallace catches up with Irons as the two explore his prowess on stage and screen, his triumphant restoration of Kilcoe Castle in Ireland, and his keen advice to students.
