Description
Texas basketball's season appeared to be all but over two weeks ago, but after the Longhorns have gone on a three-game winning streak, there could be a slight chance that Texas grabs a bid for the NCAA Tournament. But will that be enough to save the season, and ultimately, Shaka Smart's job as head coach?
On this week's episode of The Flagship, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes discuss what it will take for Smart to keep his job, and if that is even a possibility in the mind of Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte. The hosts are also joined by former Texas men's basketball star Brad Buckman, who played for the Longhorns on the 2003 Final Four team, and get his take on the state of the Texas basketball program and how it is being led by Shaka Smart.
Chip and Taylor also weigh in on the new staff salaries that were unveiled for Tom Herman's assistant coaches and why they believe the figures are either too high or just right as Texas football looks to take the next corner in a make-or-break season for Herman and Co.
Catch all of that and more on the latest episode of The Flagship Podcast.
