We are in the final three episodes of our games of the year countdown! Today we look back at two Corbin Burnes starts just five days apart in which he was diving headfirst into the National League Cy Young race. These two games were stark contrasts of competitiveness of the actual games, but that didn't stop the storylines emerging for Dom and Vinny to relive for the episode.

August 11th, 2021, Brewers at Cubs: "The 10K game." Corbin Burnes channeled his inner Tom Seaver by tying a major league record of 10 consecutive strikeouts. He even technically recorded 11 straight outs via K, but the record goes down as consecutive at-bats. He became the third pitcher ever in MLB history to accomplish the feat, also including Aaron Nola. The Brewer offense spotted him seven runs in the first inning before he even touched the mound, which certainly didn't hurt.

August 6th, 2021, Giants at Brewers: "The Legend of Rowdy Continues." Brian Anderson made the call after the walk-off single from Rowdy Tellez. However, we can't lose sight of the epic pitcher's duel that unfolded to set up the clutch moment between Logan Webb and Corbin Burnes. The two best teams in the National League squared up on a Friday night to open a weekend series at the top of the pennant race. This was a series that set the tone that both teams were for real.
