How many people, probably including you and I, do things simply because we wanted to? 
And how many times we don't do things, simply because ... we don't want to. 
Am I correct in including you in this? I thought so! 
We all are guilty of this at one point or another.
The question is, what does it take to motivate and demotivate us?
What if I told you that what someone who is meaningful to us say to us or don't say, serves to do one of the two?
