Description

EPISODE 40 - Clark, Hyung, and John record their longest podcast show to mark the 40th episode by first talking about the record-breaking sale of the Kobe Bryant PMG non-rookie card. Then they dissect the release of 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball and go over the various pros (plenty of Wander Franco cards to chase plus new Home Field Advantage case hits) and cons (crazy print runs suspected), plus they discuss the greater implications for sports cards collecting if manufacturers continue to print more as well as potential solutions to prevent from entering Junk Wax Era 2.0.
The guys also answer three listener questions submitted through the podcast's Instagram page at @cardstothemoon. One question is why are PSA gem mint cards valued much higher currently than other gem mint cards from BGS or SGC. They also answer a card-flipping strategy question and end with a discussion on NFT sports cards.
The show ends off with its regular weekly segment, Pick One – Hot Takes Edition, where they each give two hobby hot takes and decide which is more likely to happen. The Pick One pairs for this episode include: Which is the better investment: Kobe Bryant PMG Green /10 vs. Kobe Bryant Topps Chrome Refractor Black Label; With the pandemic winding down, will we see a new boom in the hobby  vs. or experience a bit more pain in the hobby; Wander Franco 1st Bowman Chrome autograph card will be worth more than Vladimir Guerrero 1st Bowman Chrome autograph card by the end of the season vs. Wander Franco 1st Bowman Chrome autograph card will be worth less than Bobby Witt Jr. 1st Bowman Chrome autograph card by the end of the season.
