Description

Although May was Mental Health Awareness Month we wanted to continue the discussions into June. For this episode we wanted to focus on the importance of Mental Health for Black Men. So we spoke to Arron Muller aka King A who is the chief operating officer and a therapist at Life Matters Psychological Services, LLC along with his wife Dr. Trudy-Ann Gayle. Arron is also a school social worker and an adjunct professor at Adelphi University School of Social Work. In 2021, Aaron became the chief executive officer of Modify Wellness Inc, a nonprofit aimed at providing resources and education about mental illness in the black community. King A has been all over the place encouraging and creating space for wellness for black men. He's been featured in Black Enterprise, Huffington Post and as the resident therapist on Black Ink Crew. In the episode we spoke about the directory he created called searchblackmaletherapists.com. You can also follow him on ig @theblack_therapist.
