Feminist Question Time with focus on Italy
Women's Human Rights Campaign (WHRC) Feminist Question Time. Our weekly online webinars are attended by a global feminist and activist audience of between 300-400. The main focus is how gender ideology is harming the rights of women and girls. You can see recordings of previous panels on our YouTube Channel.
This week’s speakers:
1 - Lucia Giansiracusa - ArciLesbica activist and one of the Italian Country Contacts for Italy
Topic: Presentation of our book We, the lesbians. Female preference and criticism of transfeminism. With focus on the concept of "false rights", which is one of the many topics covered in the book.
2 - Roberta Trucco - feminist, Graduated in Literature and Philosophy. She published a novel My name Is Mary Magdalene Marlin editore, 2019. She writes articles on the site www.cheliberta.it and for www.ferraraitalia.it. She has published several articles on the Corriere della Sera blog "La 27ora". She is a passionate reader of child psychoanalysis texts. She did aquarels for the album book "you say Vulva! handle with care"
Topic: Her novel " my name is MAry Magdalene" edited in 2019 by marlin editore to explain the connection between biology and biography, nature and life, to demonstrate how the ancestral wisdom that belongs to indigenous peaple and that has passed through women's bodies for millenia is so important to re-think our idea of human being!
3 - Cristina Gramolini - History and Philosophy teacher in a secondary school, lesbian activist since 1990 and currently national president of ArciLesbica, the association that this year organised a conference in Milan on the inviolable rights of women, entitled "Different, not exclusionary", with 15 speakers.
Topic: Changes in the conception of a law against homotransphobia, under discussion in Italy and not yet approved: from anti-discrimination law to legislation of gender identity theory; verbal violence and physical threats to critics.
