Recently I was on holiday and I saw at least three women around the pool reading the book, Four Thousand Weeks, time management for mortals by Oliver Burkeman. Turns out the average person only has 4k weeks on earth. It doesn’t sound like much does it? That made me decide to read the book and I loved it.
Oliver Burkeman is a best-selling author, keynote speaker and for many years he wrote a popular column for the Guardian, which you may have heard of, 'This Column Will Change Your Life'.
This episode is about making the most of our radically finite lives in a world of impossible demands and relentless distractions. That basically describes my day-to-day.
Oliver shares with us positive psychology that can help us overcome the overwhelm, make better choices and build a more meaningful relationship with time.
He says that time management doesn’t mean becomming more productive, it means deciding what to neglect. And once we realise we can never fit everything in we actually then get the freedom to prioritise.
