Description

The Boston Marathon is seen as the ultimate marathon that many runners aspire to achieve and conquer. In 1967, history was made as Kathrine Switzer became the first official woman to run the Boston Marathon. During the race, she was attacked by an angry race official who was so distraught that a woman was running “his” race. Shaken by the incident, she nevertheless went on to not only finishing but also become a historical figure around the world for sports equality. She also later played a driving role in making the Women’s Marathon an Olympic event. In this discussion, you'll discover: Her experience and thought-process of when she ran the Boston Marathon What role models are made of and what it takes How sport will evolve and take advantage of the different physiology and strengths of both men and women.     You can check out Kathrine, his story, and what she's up to now here: https://kathrineswitzer.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Visit our website to learn more: https://go.hvmn.com/podcast-audio Take a short survey that will help us improve the podcast and be entered in a HVMN Ketone giveaway: https://go.hvmn.com/podcastsurvey We also want to hear from our listeners/viewers!
