Positive Parenting and affirming practices are feel-good, flowery phrases we use to refer to treating children as if they're allies rather than human beings who need direction and healthy independence. With the rise of safe spaces and treating every event as if it were traumatic, it's difficult to build resilience and emotional grit in individuals that rely on us to do so. If we're offended by everything, how will we teach our children not to be?
