Description

"In my dreams I'm beautiful... and Baaad."  We watched A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) with our friends Tim Murdock and Matt Emert from the podcast Happy Horror Time and we need to get some sleep - Ándale!  We covered "the gay one"(NOES2) and "the MTV one" (NOES4) and now we're here to talk about the critically aclaimed one.  The start of the "dream trilogy" brings back Freddy's original Final Girl Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) as a hot-shot grad student who studies dreams.  Kristen Parker (Patricia Arquette) and her fellow troubled teens are the last of the Elm Street Kids and are fighting for their lives (literally) as Freddy is taking them down one by one. We get some radical 80's dream-logic sequences featuring punk rock chicks, D&D wizardry and bodacious nurses - all set to a hair metal soundtrack lead by Dokken and their title track Dream Warriors (which still slaps). The first in the Nightmare "Dream trilogy" is by far the best and quite possibly the most quotable of the entire franchise.  "Welcome to prime time, bitch!" This is the podcast where we watch a movie from our past that had a lasting impression on our little gay lives.  If we had no business watching it - we stole our parents VHS copy and watched under the cover of night.  If a diva gave a rousing speech - we memorized it and lip-synced it at a talent show.  Join Scott and Pete each week for a look back at the Movies That Made Us Gay!
