Description

Kia ora e te whānau. This week, Matt and Eugene make the trek from Nor’ Westland  into the wilds of the wilds of suburbia to join the Dwight to our Taupin, the Ridgeley to our Michael, The Afanasieff to our Carey, the indomitable Andrew McDowall, to look back with the beginnings of fondness (or at least a sense of thank fond that’s over) at the year that we didn’t need, nor indeed want … 2022. The highs, the lows, the excitement of looking forward to races not being canceled, maybe. It’s been a trip. Ruth Croft bestrode the world like a laconic Atlanta, and some other people had a pretty good year in running too. We discuss our Greatest Runs Ever of 2022, then change into our penguin suits for the Dirt Church Radio Awards (the awards ceremony with neither awards nor ceremony) and engage in a bloody good chat about the sport and the culture we love … running. This is the final “proper” DCR of 2022, and we want to thank you all more than ever for the engagement, encouragement, and the aroha that you have shown us this year. We feel a distinct privilege to do what we do, and can’t wait to come back refreshed for 2023. Meri Kirihimete and please, enjoy!Episode Links Digicake StudioSCOTT Running Coros NZJulbo Eyewear UltrAspireirunfarGivealitle for Kerry’s Rehab Dirt Church Radio on InstagramDirt Church Radio on Twitter Dirt Church Radio on Facebook Dirt Church Radio on PatreonCieleFurther Faster New Zealand
