The Caps got outworked in the second period after playing a pretty solid first period with Nick Backstrom scoring the only Caps goal on the night. The backchecking and odd man breaks ultimately was the Capitals demise. Darcy Kuemper was under heavy pressure in the second and was pulled in favor of Charlie Lindgren.
