(2/28/23) Markets achieved a rally of sorts on Monday, closing slightly higher and setting the stage for a rally into March, the weaker month in a seasonably strong period. Month-end and end-of-quarter window dressing will play a role in market maneuvers. We see a bit more consolidation still ahead, as markets deal with weaker pricing, resulting in some "sideways" trading for a few days. Markets are only 1-2% away from breaking through critical support, which would lead to a retesting of October's lows. There is a very small margin of error that would differentiate between a bona fide bull market or a bull trap for investors.
