Description

Today we decided to answer a question that we know a lot of you have been thinking about. That question is: what does Bob Seger, Ethylene Glycol, Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, and the Columbine High School shooting have to do with one another? Ok, so maybe you’ve never asked that question, but the short answer is either misinformation or disinformation! On today’s episode we are talking about how humans process information, communicate that information, and the historical precedent that proves how bad we are at both of those things. Although the terms misinformation and disinformation have recently grown in popularity, they are both concepts that have been around for as long as humans have. During the episode we give some examples of how the real story behind major events can get lost over time and why humans will change the meaning of something to fit their needs. Please don’t forget to follow us on social media, you can find the links in the episode details and if you enjoyed the podcast, please tell your friends about it.
