Description
What's the top concern people have when thinking about becoming a digital nomad?
Money? Language? Scoring accommodations? WiFi problems?
NOPE, all wrong. It's safety.
Every. single. time.
When we ask our audience of burgeoning digital nomads what they're most afraid of, it always comes down to safety. And that's not exclusive to new digital nomads, we get safety questions
So finally, we decided to tackle the topic with two of the most knowledgeable digital nomads on the topic.
First we have Marisa coming in with years of expertise from the female perspective (a significantly higher risk group). Marisa has traveled to 70+ countries, many times as a solo traveler, and has learned every trick in the book to navigate the world safely.
Second, we have Diego has gone on 50+ trips with groups of 15+ people each, so he's seen nearly every safety/danger-related scenario possible. In other words, he's quite possibly one of the most knowledgeable people we've ever met with regards to digital nomad safety.
Without giving away the whole list, a preview of what we talk about:
Safety getting from the airport to your destination.
Researching general ground transportation (many taxis are fake!)
Unregistered taxis that can get you into trouble in a quick hurry.
Understanding the local "safety map" of an area.
The danger river in Medellin.
When you absolutely need to take an Uber, regardless of how close to home you are.
Finding locals to give you tips.
Quick tips on how to not get your money stolen.
Identifying ATM scams.
Currency exchange scams.
And much much more! Whether you are an aspiring digital nomad, or a distinguished veteran, you'll get some GREAT tips from this podcast.
