This has been a rollercoaster of a season for the Texas Basketball program that woefully came to an end on Sunday when they fell to the Miami Hurricanes in the Elite Eight. From start to finish, this was a magical season for Texas that required a ton of resilience and maturation to get to where they ended up. The further they got in the tournament, the more you felt like this team was capable of winning the whole thing. With a 13 point lead in the second half, you felt like a trip to the Final Four in your home state of Texas was inevitable. When Rodney Terry says work the game for 40 minutes, he truly means 40 minutes. Texas had worked the game for 40 minutes for 7 straight games, leading to a Big 12 conference tournament championship and an Elite 8 appearance. However, with Dylan Disu injured, Marcus Carr hobbled, and an aggressive and physical Miami team hungry to win, those dreams fell short. A tough end to the season was potentially saved by the news that Rodney Terry will be offered the full time head coaching job. What will this mean for Texas Basketball moving forward.
