Logan Webb got hit around today as the San Francisco Giants continued their early season trend of losing every other game. While that's not exactly what you want to see from a team that finished exactly .500 last year, it's too early to read into such trends. Webb's strikeout rate and walk rate so far this season are very encouraging; he's just been hurt by an unsustainably high average on balls in play and rate of stranding his own baserunners. Those numbers will improve, which should shift his 6.55 ERA down closer to his low-3.00s FIP (and even lower xFIP).
Getting to some mailbag questions ... With the Orioles calling up Grayson Rodriguez, do you expect the SF Giants to call up Kyle Harrison and or Casey Schmitt by the end of the month? Will homers make an appearance again this season? Or did we just use up our allowance for another 5 series? Does Ross Stripling have a history of starting slowly? Hoping maybe he's still working out the kinks?
