Description

LSU football's defensive line coach, Jamar Cain, announced he was leaving LSU to pursue an opportunity in the NFL under Sean Payton as the Denver Bronco's defensive line coach. A very well deserved opportunity for Cain now leaves LSU with a question mark and a hole coaching one of the most important position groups on this football team, especially considering how many defensive linemen are limited in spring practice with injuries. The LSU Tigers were out on the practice squad this past week and Brian Kelly provided updates on the coaching search, what he looks for when adding a new coach into the building, specifically one who will lead the defensive line, and how they are managing the position in the process.
Plus, LSU baseball was on the road at Columbia, SC taking on the South Carolina Gamecocks over the weekend in a wild and wacky series that was cut short due to inclement weather. Paul Skenes, who has been outstanding for LSU so far this season as their Friday night guy, had his game one outing cut short due to rain. After that, LSU couldn't quite recover and ended up falling 13-5 at the hands of the Gamecocks. The next day LSU rallied late in the game to overcome a four run deficit and split the series in dramatic fashion. What were some of the biggest takeaways from the weekend? How have the Tigers fared in the polls after a short series over the weekend?
Finally, Angel Reese continues to be a national topic of conversation even a week after the Tigers hoisted the national championship trophy for the first time ever. NBC's Saturday Night Live featured a skit in which an SNL cast member portrayed Reese and played off of her gesture that went viral and how Reese is capitalizing off of the opportunities that have come her way this past week. LSU women's basketball's influence continues to grow and now it is on a national spotlight more than ever before.
