Description
Some recent reports have indicated that the next Pac-12 media deal could have up to 50% of Pac-12 home football games on a major streaming service. That wouldn't be that different from what the previous media deal was.
On today's episode of Locked On Pac-12, Spencer McLaughlin looks at why streaming concerns are being overblown if one of Apple or Amazon are heavily involved in the next Pac-12 media deal. Ion TV also just made another move in the media landscape to dip their toe into the water of sports broadcasting.
If the CW or another non-traditional cable partner were involved with the Pac-12's media rights, there's a very clear upside that could easily counteract the downside of "poor perception". Plus, new Cal QB Sam Jackson showed something in the Bears' Spring Game that the Cal offense hasn't seen in quite a while.
