Description
My guest today is Laura Ulrich, a retired professor from Harvard University. Despite societal expectations that women should focus solely on homemaking, Laura pursued her education and received a Ph.D. while raising five children. She has authored several books, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Midwife’s Tale, and is known for her catchphrase “well-behaved women seldom make history.” In her latest book, A House Full of Females, Laura explores the surprising connection between plural marriage and women’s suffrage in 1870. She is truly a delightful person, and I am sure you will agree after listening to this episode.
