Countess Elizabeth Bathory was named most prolific female murderer by Guinness World Records, thanks to her fondness for torturing and murdering her servants and other young women in the village surrounding her castle. You probably know her as the inspiration behind Dracula, or from stories of how she bathed in the blood of her victims to maintain her youth. It’s a incredibly interesting legend—but how much of it is true?
