The Big 10 threw its hat into the ring of media rights/realignment news recently with reports of new commissioner Tony Petitti having several key details to sort out in their new, historic media deal. Petitti now finds himself in a similar position in some ways to Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff: cleaning up the mess of a predesessor.

Northwestern President (formerly at Oregon) Michael Schill made comments about the Big 10 expanding further west to ease the travel burden on USC and UCLA's student athletes. A move still doesn't seem imminent, but the Big 10 appears to be constantly prepared should the landscape change.
