Description
"You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” (Hebrews 1:9)This is a verse about Jesus. Hebrews tells us a lot about who He is. He is supreme over all things, He is God in the flesh and His kingdom is eternal. I try to pay close attention when Scripture says God loves or hates something because it reveals His character and personality to me. In this verse, we see that Jesus loves righteousness and hates wickedness. We all hate things that threaten what we love and since wickedness is an affront to righteousness and wickedness wounds God's beloved children, it's fitting that Jesus would hate it by loving the right things, the eternal things. Jesus dwells in gladness. May our hearts love what he loves and hate what He hates because He's where the joy is!
